We are pleased to announce the 2024 jointed IRAD/GenTAC Aorta meeting in Tromsø,Norway
Covid forced a postponed date for our long-awaited rendezvous, but now we have settled for August 27, 28 and 29 2024.
This is just ahead of the European Society of Cardiology Congress held in London.
A particularly exciting setup for this meeting will be the merging of the IRAD and GenTAC groups. Many of you, but definitely not all, are members of both societies and can liaison the exciting merging of mutual interests.
We hope to present the North from its best side next year. August is perfect for an “Introduction to the Arctic”, although maybe not for skiing…. And we will have a very exciting program with sessions on guidelines, updates from ongoing trials, emerging technologies in stent and hybrid interventions and also on the biological aspects of heritable dispositions for dissections.
Hope to see many of you in Tromsø!

We are planning an updated program with an extended section on the current guidelines including contribution from Eric Isselbacher and Thor Sundt, both from the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Also, there will be a section with updates from ongoing trials, like the Sunday trial, a long awaited Scandinavian randomized trial on type B dissections with no apparent complications (the so-called “uncomplicated Bs”).
We are also looking forward to presentations on the latest in endovascular options and treatments from an interesting faculty featuring amongst others Santi Trimarchi from Milano. And we will have updates on surgery (Joseph Coselli, Houston) and general aspects of dissections (Christoph Nienaber, London).
This time, we are particularly lucky to be joined by GenTAC. Our mutual interests, but different lookout points on aortic disease, will make for exciting discussions and potential discovery of new common grounds.
Welcome to Tromsø!
